Privacy Policy

1. Who is responsible

Reset – Habit Change Companion is the data controller and is operated from Hungary. Privacy requests can be sent to support@reset-habit.com.

2. Data we process

• Account data: name, email, password hash, verification status and session information.
• Habit and wellness data: selected programs, goals, mood, cravings, nicotine products and use, nicotine spending, screen time, notes, triggers, plans and lapse-recovery entries.
• Billing data: Stripe checkout, payment, refund and entitlement identifiers. Reset does not receive or store your full card number.
• Security and technical data: IP address, browser/device information, timestamps and rate-limit records needed to prevent abuse and keep accounts secure.
• Optional marketing measurement: only after you allow it, TikTok may receive public-page visits, a TikTok click/browser identifier, IP address, browser information and checkout or purchase events. Reset never sends TikTok your dashboard entries, habit or wellness records, Forum content, email address or phone number.
• Support data: messages you choose to send and the information needed to answer them.
• Community data: Forum posts, replies, reactions and safety reports, together with the account identifier needed for ownership, rate limiting and moderation.

3. Why we use it

We use account data to provide and secure your account; billing data to perform the purchase, issue refunds and meet legal obligations; and technical data for fraud prevention and reliable delivery. These uses rely on performance of our contract, legitimate security interests and legal obligations, as applicable.

Mood, craving, nicotine-use and related entries may reveal health information. We process that information only with your explicit consent. You can withdraw consent at any time from Privacy & Account.

Forum content is processed so you can share it with signed-in Reset members and so we can prevent abuse, respond to reports and enforce the community rules. Posts may reveal information about addiction or wellbeing, so Forum access also requires your sensitive-data consent.

Optional TikTok measurement is based on your consent. It helps us understand whether an advertisement led to a public-page visit, checkout or purchase. It remains disabled unless you choose “Allow measurement,” and you can change that choice from the public homepage.

4. Service providers and transfers

Cloudflare provides hosting, database, security and transactional email delivery. Stripe provides checkout and payment processing. If you allow marketing measurement, TikTok processes limited public-page and conversion data for advertising measurement. These providers process limited information under their own security and data-protection terms. These providers may process data outside your country using lawful transfer safeguards where required.

We do not sell habit data and do not use habit or wellness data to build advertising profiles.

5. Forum visibility and anonymity

Forum posts and replies are visible to signed-in members with dashboard access. Posting anonymously hides your account name from other members, but Reset still keeps the private account link needed for ownership, deletion, abuse prevention and lawful requests. Do not publish contact details or information that identifies another person.

6. Retention

• Habit and wellness records: until you delete them by withdrawing consent or delete your account.
• Account data: while your account is active, then deleted or anonymised when the account is deleted.
• Payment and refund records: up to 8 years where required by Hungarian accounting law.
• Security records: normally up to 12 months unless a longer period is needed to investigate abuse or meet a legal claim.
• Support correspondence: up to 3 years after the request is closed, unless a legal obligation requires longer.
• Forum content: until you delete it, withdraw sensitive-data consent or delete your account. Safety reports may be retained for up to 12 months where needed to prevent repeated abuse.

7. Your choices and rights

You can download a machine-readable export, withdraw sensitive-data consent and erase progress, or delete your account from the account page. You can also accept, reject or revisit optional TikTok measurement from the public homepage; rejecting it removes Reset's stored TikTok click identifier from that browser. Depending on applicable law, you may also request access, correction, restriction, portability or object to processing. You may complain to your local data-protection authority; in Hungary, this is NAIH.

8. Age and changes

Reset accounts are for people aged 16 or older. We may update this policy as the service changes. Material changes that affect consent will be presented for renewed acceptance before further habit data is stored.
